Two-Factor Authentication for Signers
What is Two-Factor Authentication for Signers and why do I need to use it when I’m signing?
Good question! Two-Factor Authentication for Signers provides a secondary layer of security to make web apps and services across the internet more secure. In recent years, Two-Factor Authentication has become a standard for a multitude of services requiring a login, but also for verifying access to certain pages - and in your case, the document you are signing!
By requiring a one-time password (OTP) sent via SMS, it verifies your identity, giving you extra assurance for your sensitive documents.
How to verify my identity with Two-Factor Authentication for Signers
If Two-Factor Authentication for Signers is set as required by the sender to sign your document, you will be met with this verification window after clicking the link in the email you received.

Here you will simply click the ‘Send code’ button, and a 6 digit code will be sent via SMS to the mobile number the sender has entered for you. You will see the last 4 digits of the mobile number they used in this window. If you notice that this is incorrect, please reach out to the sender of your document for them to amend it.
Once you have clicked the ‘Send code’ button, you will be met with the window below. When you receive the SMS with the 6 digit code, enter it in the box provided with no spaces included. You will have 10 minutes to enter this code before a new one will be required. If you have not received a code, you can click ‘Resend code’ to retry.

If after 3 attempts at sending the code nothing is received to your mobile, please reach out to the sender of the document to check the accuracy of the phone number they have entered.
Once the code has been successfully entered, you will be brought directly to the signing page of your document and you’ll be all set.
