Enabling Two-Factor Authentication for Signers

Need additional verification for the eSignatures on your document? Following the instructions below, you can enable Two-Factor Authentication for Signers, meaning that in order to view and sign your documents, recipients will be required to verify their identity with a one-time code sent via SMS!

Step 1 - Select SMS (one-time code) verification

On the ‘Add Recipients’ stage of the envelope sending process, you will see a toggle labelled 'SMS (One-time code) verification' to the right of the signing sequence. You’ll first need to ensure this is enabled!

Step 2 - Add the recipient’s mobile number

You should now see a box appear for each recipient beneath their name and email address labelled ‘Add the recipient mobile number (UK only)’. This is where you will add the recipient’s phone number.

You will also see at this stage that you no longer have the option to add a password using the ‘Add’ dropdown, as seen below.

If you’ve forgotten to set the one-time password or you need to amend a recipient’s phone number just as you’re about to send the envelope, not to worry! You can go back and amend this from the ‘Summary and Send’ stage of the envelope sending process using the ‘Edit’ button for SMS (One-time code) which can be found below the signing sequence, as seen below!
